Are you interested in learning how equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles are relevant to family medicine and primary care research? Would you like an opportunity to learn how you could implement EDI and related concepts in your work? If so, participate in the EDI Symposium being organized by the Department of Family Medicine’s Graduate Programs’ EDI committee.
Dr. Mark Yaffe will present on the results of six controlled trials of self-care interventions for depression and/ or anxiety, comparing telephone lay guidance of self-care tools to self-directed use of the same tools. This research, conducted over ten years, benefited from a strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
This year's Dr. Hirsh Rosenfeld Distinguished Lecture in Family Medicine will be presented by Mark Ware, MD, Associate Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Director of the interdisciplinary Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit, based at the Montreal General Hospital.
The 9th Annual McGill Family Medicine Research Symposium is an event where graduate students and research assistants from diverse disciplines within medicine and health sciences have the opportunity to network and share their research in primary care (inclusive of health, healthcare, health systems, and policy work). This year's symposium will also feature a keynote speaker and panel discussions on how we can improve the sustainability in all aspects of the primary care ecosystem in Quebec.
We will be recognizing our preceptors with Dr. Lesley Fellows, Vice Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Dr. Marion Dove, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine.
Address: 5858, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, 3rd floor.
