A Closer Look at Careers in Arts Administration - Virtual

Wondering about careers "behind the scenes" in arts & culture? Come hear from Lianna Portnoy, BMus & MBA, who will draw on her 10+ years of experience in arts administration roles to demystify the arts administration sector.

Speaker/Bio: Lianna Portnoy is currently the Director of Finance at St. Ann's Warehouse, a non-profit theater in Dumbo, Brooklyn. She is a licensed CPA who most recently worked in the Assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Prior to her career in accounting, Lianna held a variety of positions in arts administration over a 10 year career.  These positions included orchestra manager of the New York Youth Symphony, an associate for family programs at Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute (WMI), a publicity manager for Young Concert Artists, a non-profit arts management firm, and most recently as an Associate Dean in the Office of the Provost at Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Portnoy still actively performs in New York City as both a clarinetist and early music singer.  She attended McGill University, where she studied Clarinet Performance, and Baruch College, where she obtained her MBA in Accounting.
