Your C.V. and cover letter are crucial documents in that they usually determine whether or not you will be invited for an interview. As such, they must showcase your skills and accomplishments. Therefore it is extremely important to tailor your C.V. and cover letter to the position you are targeting so employers know how your skills meet their needs.

This workshop will help you to understand the various elements of a CV (resume) and cover letter in order to compose a customized application that highlights your relevant skills to an employer.

By attending this workshop, you will be able to:

  1. Understand expectations around the format and purpose of CVs and cover letters
  2. Identify strategies for customizing application materials to specific jobs
  3. Articulate your skills and accomplishments within your CV and cover letter

Jesse McClintock will be facilitating this session. He is the CaPS designated advisor for students with disabilities.

Jesse has been a practicing Career Counsellor for over four years and has been working at McGill University since September 2018 in the role of Career Advisor at the Career Planning Service (CaPS).
