This lecture, offered by the Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal in partnership with the McGill University Dementia Education Program, aims to raise awareness and provide basic information about Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders.

During this presentation, Dr. Serge Gauthier, a clinical neurologist, will provide information on the different types of neurocognitive disorders. He will discuss the associated behavioural and psychological symptoms that manifest as the disease progresses and explain how these may differ from typical aging concerns.

Next, Mrs. Claire Webster, former caregiver and Certified Dementia Care Consultant, will share practical advice on how to care for a person living with dementia. She will discuss important considerations to ensure the safety and well-being of both the individual as well as the care partner to help families understand and access the resources needed to navigate this disease.

A question-and-answer period will follow.
