McGill's Public Health Day showcases practicum projects by students in the Master of Science in Public Health, along with a stimulating keynote talk.

Mini presentations

Ten students will give three-minute mini-oral presentations on their practicum project

Poster display

All practicum students will display their projects in a poster gallery. Come and learn about their work, pose questions, and discuss their experiences.

Speaker bio

Lucie Opatrny, MD, became the President and Executive Director of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) on January 30, 2023. Prior to joining MUHC, Dr. Opatrny was the Associate Deputy Minister, General Directorate of Academic, Medical, Nursing, and Pharmaceutical Affairs, Ministry of Health and Social Services, Government of Quebec. She earned her medical degree at McGill University, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. She obtained a Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill and a Masters in Healthcare Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts. She returned to Harvard for a Diploma in Advanced Negotiations and to Harvard Business School for a Certificate in Strategic Agility. Dr. Opatrny served as the Director of Professional Services at the CISSS de Laval and St. Mary’s Hospital Center. She was a practicing physician at the MUHC between 2004 and 2012. Before her appointment to the government in 2018 as Associate Deputy Minister, General Directorate of Specialized and University Medicine, she was an Assistant Professor and taught in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill.
